This Tuesday we’ll tap into our keg of Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout. This is the first time the brewery has exported kegs to the US and we are one of just 200 or so bars in the country to get one. Consider youself lucky if you live on the OBX, and we’d even say this one’s worth driving in for! Brewed in the north of England since 1758, Yorkshire-based Samuel Smith’s is one of the UK’s most sought after producers. While bottles have been available in the US since the 1980s, they had never sent any draft beer across the pond to the ‘colonies’…until now. A select group (about 200) of US bars have been chosen to receive their first shipment of kegs, and we are proud to be among that group! The first export is the classic Oatmeal Stout, a perfect fall quencher, and we’ll be tapping into our keg on Tuesday night for Pint Night. Join us and be among the first group in the US to ever enjoy this fantastic beer on tap!

Jenny from Devils Backbone Brewing Company will join us for Pint Night tonight, and she’s hooked us up with some rare kegs to share. Start with ShroomBock, a Doppelbock brewed with Porcini, Morel, and Chanterelle mushrooms! We’ve never tried anything like it and can’t wait to check out this rich and savory special release. We also have a vintage beer, selected from the brewery cellar – a 2016 Techtonic Barleywine, an English-inspired strong ale that only gets better with time. Add to the mix the craft classic Vienna Lager, and live music from Christian Benedi and you’ve got a great Tuesday in November!

We think Fall has some of the best seasonal beer releases – beers that go great with cooler weather, richer foods…yum. And right up at the top of our list you’ll find Mother Earth Brewery Fig and Raisin. From their Windowpane Series that features North Carolina ingredients, this beer is a Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel, fermented with figs and raisins and then aged in apple brandy barrels for 3 months. So good and so right for Fall – and for Pint Night tonight! Enjoy one along with live music from Jeremy Russell Music Cheers!
