We feel thankful that our Outer Banks home has been spared the worst of Florence! Our thoughts and prayers remain with our friends to the south who are still taking a beating from the storm.
Tomorrow morning, residents who evacuated will begin to be allowed back on the island, and we plan to open TRiO for a limited time tomorrow: from Noon – 7 pm in Retail, and from 12:30 – 7 pm in the Bistro. While we are open, we will be running a limited food menu until we can restock and get our entire team up and running – but we have plenty of Wine, Beer & Cheese and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back. Come see us on Saturday!
Excited to be tapping our first keg ever of an English craft beer classic for Tap Night tonight. Samuel Smith’s Brewery Nut Brown Ale has long been one of our best selling retail items, and is just a flat-out beautiful beer, that pairs perfectly with things like a cheese plate, or our Roast Beef and Aged Gouda panini. Check it out for yourself and enjoy live music from Charles Broughton Aycock. Beer tapped at 5, music on at 6!
Wanna try a new beer that hasn’t been released yet? Well Trio is lucky enough to have received a keg straight from the Wicked Weed brewery of the new Astronomical Juicy IPA. Join us tomorrow evening at 5 for the tapping of the keg. We will also be hosting a Wicked Weed representative for those of you who want to talk beer. Cheers!

Twas the month before Christmas, and you know what that means…It’s time for Mother Earth Brewery Silent Night, a bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout that’s brewed just once a year to bring cheer to your holiday! We tap our lone keg at 5 tonight, and live music from Jeremy Russell Music starts at 6. We also have pulled a limited number of the previous two years Silent Night from our cellar – they are available in retail while they last. A Silent Night vertical is the perfect gift for that crazy beer lover in your life – and it’s way too much to drink alone, so you know they’ll have to share. Cheers to NC Beer!
Bundle up for a Highland Brewing Company Cold Mountain Pint Night, and kick the post Thanksgiving blues. Cold Mountain is a Winter Ale that is released once a year and has a cult-like following. We are lucky enough to have scored a keg each of Cold Mountain and the even more rare Imperial Cold Mountain. We’ll tap both at 5 today, so don’t miss out – we even have a few bottles left in retail. And fans of Jeremy Russell Music will be happy to hear that he is back on stage at 6 this evening – come join us!
Getting schooled at TRiO. Our staff gathered today for the first session of TRiO Beer School led by #beermonger John. In case you missed it, TRiO was featured on UNC-TV’s North Carolina Weekend last night. The spot originally aired a few years back, but we were excited to have it run again!
North Carolina’s Highland Brewing Company delivers a punch to the palette with POW! Triple IPA, our featured brew for pint night tonight. Late additions of Simcoe Lupulin Powder make this one an explosive IPA. Use of lupulin powder has become a trend in the brewing of IPAs. It is a product of derived from hops to extract all the intense, glorious hop goodness, without any of the undesirable astringent flavors that can come the use of traditional hop pellets, or whole leaf hops. Innovation is working in your favor – come check it out tonight! We tap it at 5!
